Thanks for visiting my WebSite. My name is Mark Shone, my wife is Georgina and my two daughters are called Bobbie and Danni.  Sadly we lost Bobbie on 23rd November 2004 aged 8 years and we also lost Danni on 14th November 2006, also aged 8.

Bobbie and Danni have Battens disease and this web site has been set up to help raise funds to find a cure.

IN BRIEF
 Four years ago we were told there was no hope of a treatment or a cure within Bobbie and Danni's life expectancy.We searched the internet and   found a parent in America in the same situation as ourselves (see the LINKS page) he  set up a foundation 5 years to study and find a cure by going to a clinical trial .For the last 4 years we have been helping raise money for the research needed so the trial could begin.

Now after 4 years children are being treated. A fantastic achievment for Phil Milto a normal everyday father who set out to prove the doctors wrong and hopefully he has done just that. It has been a monumental effort from private funding and we cannot thank everyone enough for their continued support. To continue this great work we need to continue our efforts in raising funds to treat more children. We are hopeful that both Bobbie and Danni will undergo the treatment this year.

THE FUND NEEDS 300,000 POUNDS IN ADDITION TO WHAT WE HAVE ALREADY RAISED TO KEEP ON COURSE.
WE CANNOT AFFORD ANY DELAYS. The sooner we can have funds in place the sooner children can be treated.
